A web app to assign student projects
A school project: the app meant to replace my school's old system for proposing, approving, choosing and assigning student projects.

A school project: I designed and developed a web application for my school. It was meant to replace the old system professors and students used to manage, browse and assign student projects.
The process first
Before writing a single line of code, I modelled the whole process in BPMN. Four roles take part:
- The professor adds projects and submits them for approval.
- The head of programme approves projects, opens them to students, then runs the assignment once the selection period is over. They export the lists as PDF, check the hand-ins and mark each project as “Finished”.
- The student browses the open projects, bookmarks favourites, makes their choices, then sees the assignment.
- The visitor, without an account, browses finished projects.
The UML use cases then pin down who can do what: a professor only manages their own projects, only students make choices, and everything requires signing in, except browsing finished projects.
Technologies
React for the interface, Node.js for the server. The interface adapts to the screen, from desktop to phone.
